Invisible Lines

The only real border that exists is that between the land and the ocean. Then why do invisible lines have so much power? How many people are torn apart by a worthless piece of paper? How desperate must you be to hang off an airplane, to put your child on a flimsy boat? Where is the safe space? We scroll through pleas for help, avert our eyes from wars happening right in front of us, and train ourselves to “look at the bright side”. But what about people who don’t have the privilege of a brighter side?
